A Construction Production
This year has been an incredibly busy time for us and we're continuing to make strides with our existing projects, big as well as small. We have some projects in the pipeline we'll tease at before the end and which will get their own feature in future newsletters, but here we want to show you some of our current projects under construction.
One of our biggest projects; a 2100sqft home in the hills above Santa Rosa soldiers on with the exterior ply sheathing and standing seam roof already installed. This open concept second floor will take full advantage of valley views to the east and the west, while a vertical ribbon of windows on the northern elevation will allow plenty of natural light without the direct sun.
Standing on the inside at this elevation we get our first look at the view as it will be enjoyed for years. The view from ground level was always impressive, but it is something else to stand at the finished height and take in the panorama that you have only planned for in VR and on paper up to that point. We look forward to sharing more on this project as finish materials get installed. Featured here is the work of Evenich Construction.
This collection of some of our projects under construction includes a small kitchen addition/ remodel in Sonoma, a 2500sqft remodel of a 4500sqft mansion in Menlo Park, a primary bedroom and bathroom addition in Redwood City and a primary bedroom/ bathroom conversion from a garage in Agua Caliente.
Each of these projects have faced some difficulty due to oft lamented supply chain issues, there isn't a project that has gone unscathed in some fashion. However it's been a relief to know the contractors for these projects are on-the-ball and think ahead to keep the timeline moving forward. Featured here are projects by Whitfield Construction, North Current Builders & Lion General Construction.
This year has been an incredibly busy time for our industry, with everyone from engineers to permit technicians feeling the strain. We are continually impressed and appreciative of all our associates who bend over backwards to make things as smooth as possible for our clients, thank you.
Another new-build home in the works is the design for a contemporary/ industrial small format dwelling in the hills north east of Santa Rosa at Mark West Spring Road. This near hill-top site has phenomenal views, especially at sunset. We'll be sharing with you the design process and considerations that go into building placement and orientation in an upcoming newsletter.
One of a handful of projects in the design stage is this small kitchen remodel and dining room addition in Sonoma. The focus for this project is opening up the view to the kitchen from the main living space which places more importance on the kitchen as a focus of the client's daily life.
Once drawn through to the kitchen a new dining room addition projects into the back yard; a gorgeous expanse of yard with rock walls, sculptural tress, pool and outdoor kitchen. We prioritized this view with plenty of glazing and minimal construction. We look forward to sharing more of this project as it develops!
